The UA Local 516 and the unionized HVAC/R contractors in BC recognize the value of all persons involved in the HVAC/R industry and the need for quality training. To that end in a recent meeting of concerned employers it was decided to show their strong support of traditional apprenticeship by putting something back into the training of our future journeypersons.
The method chosen by these employers is to offer financial support for all apprentices in BC attending JARTS. Contributions from UA Local 516 and the unionized contractors will allow JARTS to reduce tuition fees payable by apprentices by nearly 50%.
Effective September 2007 tuition fees for six week Level One and Two apprenticeship classes at JARTS will be $420.00 and eight week Levels Three and Four $560.00. GST exempt.
Tuition fees can be paid by Visa, MasterCard, Debit, Cash or Certified Cheque. Please note that personal cheques will no longer be accepted.
These new tuition fees apply to all apprentices registering for technical training classes at JARTS, regardless of whether you work for a non-union or a union company.
